Cannabis history will be made on this year’s Swiss National Day, August 1:

Thecultivation and export of medical cannabis will be permitted from August 1, 2022 and patients will have the right to simple prescription. What has already been applied in various countries for quite a long time is also now happening in Switzerland. The authority responsible for the cultivation and storage of medical cannabis is Swissmedic, the national authorization and supervisory authority for drugs and medical products.

At CB Expo 2022, which will take place on September 10-11 in Zurich, the panel discussion will provide information on ‘The Medical Cannabis Reform in Switzerland: Challenges and Opportunities’– discussing the effects and possibilities available to interested companies wishing to position themselves on the new market and make use of Switzerland as an exporter country.

At the same time, various Swiss cities are launching pilot projects for the legal leisure consumption of cannabisand the Siegenthaler Motion ‘Regulation of the Cannabis Market for Better Youth and Consumer Protection’has been accepted by the responsible commission. A new law is being devised and it is foreseeable that the leisure consumption of cannabis will soon also be regulated by law in Switzerland.
